About Deeply
Built from lived experience. Built for community.
Our Story
Deeply was founded by someone who lives with severe hemophilia B. After decades of navigating the healthcare system alone - explaining the condition to doctors, friends, employers, and strangers - the hardest part of living with a rare chronic condition isn't just the medical management. It's the isolation.
Most people with rare conditions have never met another person who shares their diagnosis. They find community in fragmented Facebook groups, buried Reddit threads, or occasional conference meetups. There is no dedicated platform designed specifically for the needs of rare disease communities - combining health tracking, community discussion, and condition-specific resources in one safe, private space.
Deeply is that platform. It starts with hemophilia and bleeding disorders (the founder's lived experience), then expands to serve other rare chronic conditions through a multi-pod architecture - each condition gets its own community space, sharing the same trusted infrastructure.
Our Mission
Rare and chronic conditions are our focus - that is where isolation runs deepest. Today Deeply supports hundreds of condition communities, so the same safe, peer-to-peer model also serves autoimmune conditions, mental health, cancers, and everyday chronic illness. No one navigates their journey alone.
Why “Deeply”?
Because rare conditions affect every aspect of life - deeply. Because the connections between patients who share a diagnosis run deep. Because understanding a condition deeply requires lived experience, not just medical knowledge.
Our platform combines three things that patients need: community (condition-specific discussion forums), health tracking (bleed logs, treatment journals, symptom trackers), and connection (a global map to find others nearby with the same condition).
Our Values
- Community first. Every product decision starts with “does this serve the community?” We never monetize patient data or sell access to our members.
- Privacy by design. Health data is encrypted at the application level. Your condition is yours to share, on your terms.
- Lived experience matters. Our product decisions are guided by a Patient Advisory Board - people who actually live with these conditions.
- Accessibility for all. We design for the full spectrum of ability, language, and economic circumstance. No one is left behind because they can't afford access.
- Transparency. Our financials, our governance, and our decision-making are open to the community that sustains us.
